Standards for Solar LED Streetlights

Solar LED street lights belong to outdoor LED street lights, so the primary function of solar LED street lights is lighting, but this lighting function does not mean that as long as it can be lit.

Solar LED street lighting needs to meet its lighting requirements, which have 2 criteria: one is the brightness requirements, which must meet the relevant national standards; the second is the lighting time, which needs to have sufficient lighting time at night.

As solar LED street lights are solar energy stored during the day for use at night, it is an important indicator that the lights can still be switched on on cloudy and rainy days without sunlight.

Therefore, the self-sustaining lighting days of LED solar street lights should be assessed in each location based on the longest number of cloudy and rainy days in the area.

Generally speaking, continuous cloudy and rainy days may be around 5-7 days, so products that reach this length of time are qualified lighting solar LED street light products.

For example, the SRESKY SSL-912 series street lamp patented by the ALS invention ensures lighting for more than 7 rainy days!

The solar LED street light is topped with a lamp base and solar panel, and some have integrated batteries in the lamp base. This head-heavy configuration has a much higher center of gravity than traditional LED streetlights, and safety standards are naturally more stringent.

Therefore, the wall thickness and material processing requirements of the light pole must be higher so as not to affect its use.

In many installations, the base should also be designed to be above ground level to prevent passing vehicles from directly hitting the poles. Instead of vibration caused by the impact, the concrete can absorb some of the forces generated by the impact, thus protecting the pole and the system from injury.
