This solar light project accounts for 2% of Kenya’s total capacity. This additional capacity will help achieve the goal of the Kenyan government to achieve solar light applications by 2020 (70% in 2017).
Voltalia will favour local Kenyan Voltalia and subcontractor staff. Voltalia expects up to 300 people to participate in the Alten project during peak hours and create up to 15 permanent local jobs during the operations and maintenance phases.
